Association
All Waynflete parents and guardians are members of the Parents Association.
It is our goal to facilitate parent involvement in the school and promote communication within the parent community. We play a vital role in many school functions, including welcoming new parents, organizing class gatherings, and supporting the needs of faculty through volunteering.
The purpose of the association is to:
- Encourage parent participation and support
- Serve as a channel of communication
- Assist the Waynflete community in achieving common goals
- Sponsor activities that augment the quality of student life
All Waynflete parents are encouraged to get involved in Parents Association opportunities throughout the year. Consider becoming a class parent, participating on one of our committees, volunteering with the library or arts, or holding a leadership position in the Parents Association.

Volunteering
Parents are a very valuable resource at Waynflete. Through volunteer efforts, parents provide essential services and assistance, year in and year out. From chairing an event to shelving books in the library, volunteers make a positive difference in the Waynflete community. We welcome you to view all of the wonderful ways parents can volunteer. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Parents Association
Consider becoming a class parent, participating on one of our committees, volunteering with the library or arts, or holding a leadership position in the Parents Association.
Officers, Committee Chairs, and Class Parents are recruited in early March for the following school year. Click here for more information on these opportunities to get involved.
Arts Volunteers
We welcome parent volunteers who want to assist the Music, Theater, Dance, and Visual Arts departments with performances, art exhibits, recitals, and more.
Athletics Volunteers
These volunteers support the Athletic department by helping organize the preseason Upper School athlete/family BBQ (August), Sport Recognition Nights (November, February, June), and organizing team parents and snack shack volunteers.
Library Volunteers
These volunteers help organize events that support Waynflete libraries, including the used book sale at Spring Fling as well as shelving and other needs that arise in library physical spaces. If interested, please contact Laurel Daly.
Fall Parent Event
A relaxed social gathering with a focus on bringing the adult Waynflete community together to enjoy music, food, beverages, and socializing.
Faculty/Staff Appreciation
The Parents Association helps acknowledge our extraordinary Waynflete faculty and staff through a variety of events and initiatives.
Social Committee
This group is responsible for planning and coordinating parent social gatherings on and off campus with a mission to bring parents together and promote a welcoming and inclusive parent community at Waynflete.
Spring Fling
An annual family friendly fair with games, entertainment, a used book sale, barbecue and more.

Admission
The Admission Office welcomes parent volunteers to do behind-the-scenes work such as assemble Admission packets, assist with mailings, and general clerical tasks that are critical in helping our operation run smoothly. We also keep a list of parents who are willing to talk with prospective families, as well as assist at a number of our important Admission events throughout the year. Parents wishing to volunteer in the Admission Office should contact Fiona Haslett. If you submit your name to Fiona, we will contact you directly when an opportunity to help is available.
Development and Alumni Relations
The Waynflete Fund
The Waynflete Fund helps make possible the extraordinary education that students receive each and every day. Volunteers make the personal connections with fellow parents that guarantee the success of this annual fundraising effort.
No experience is necessary! Just the desire to support Waynflete, its teachers, programs and students and the willingness to encourage other parents to the same.
Grandparents & Friends Day
Grandparents and Friends Day occurs in May of every year and parent volunteers are essential to the success of the day. Specific volunteer roles include greeting and guiding guests upon arrival at our campus and helping to serve a catered buffet breakfast to more than 300 grandparents and friends in the gym.
School Mailings
Waynflete relies on parent volunteers to assist with various mailings throughout the year. Stuffing envelopes for a few hours is a quick and easy way to make a difference in the life of the school while also getting to know other parents.

Lower School
There are many different ways for parents to volunteer in Lower School. Opportunities to volunteer within classrooms do vary by program and the developmental needs of students. Classroom volunteering includes regular options such as escorting student groups back and forth to the library or supporting students with classroom tasks and work plans, helping with special events, chaperoning students on field trips, and sharing relevant parent expertise with students.
The best way to learn how one can volunteer within classrooms is to contact your child’s teacher, and to let class parents for that program know that you’re interested in volunteering. Parent-organized events such as class picnics and parent coffees are another great way to volunteer. Please note that parents wishing to volunteer in Lower School must attend an orientation workshop with the Lower School Director (opportunities are outlined in October in the Waynflete Weekly). Middle School
Volunteers are needed to help with the following Middle School events:
- LEAP Week Team Challenge Day in early September
- Eighth grade musical in May (volunteer opportunities begin in January)

Upper School
There are different ways that parents can volunteer in the Upper School. Throughout the year, parents will receive emails requesting volunteers for Advising Day, Class Picnics, events and special projects. For more information, contact Upper School Assistant Jack Konyk.
